The High Point baseball fell 14-1 to Radford on Friday night. The Panthers will go for the series win tomorrow afternoon in the finale at 1 p.m.

Both teams were quiet offensively out of the gates after each recorded double-digit hits the night before. HPU starter
Teddy Merritt made it through the first inning on just seven pitches, six of them strikes. But the Highlanders were the first to strike, as they plated three runs in the top of the fourth.

Radford plated another run in the fifth as
Reid Viar was called in to relieve Merritt. Merritt finished with two strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work. Viar retired his first batter with a strikeout looking to finish off the fifth inning. The Highlanders added two more runs in the top of the sixth to take the commanding 6-0 lead.

The Panthers got on the board in the bottom of the seventh as
Jackson Melton doubled to center field and scored on
Charlie Klingler's RBI-single to pull back within 6-1.

Radford exploded in the final two frames, scoring four runs in each to pull away with the 14-1 win to even the series.
