The High Point University women's basketball team picked up their fifth straight win and moved to 8-3 in Big South play with a 65-57 win over Radford on Wednesday night.
HPU got out to a quick start with a
Jenson Edwards steal and jumper before
Claire Wyatt hit the first triple for the Panthers.
Jaden Wrightsell came in off the bench and chipped in five points on consecutive trips down the floor.
But Radford would stay close and use an 14-1 run to take a seven-point lead into the second period.
HPU rallied to stay in the game with two
Jenson Edwards triples, a layup, and two
Jordan Edwards free throws.

Radford would again storm back with their own run and hold the Panthers scoreless for five consecutive minutes until
Jordan Edwards hit her first three-pointer of the night to pull back within 30-26 heading into the halftime break.
The Panthers clawed their way back in the second half, opening up the third quarter with back-to-back and-1's from
Jordan Edwards and
Jenson Edwards.
Callie Scheier hit her first triple to give HPU the 39-27 lead with 5:15 remaining in the frame.
High Point finished the frame on a 9-2 run with five points coming from
Claire Wyatt. The run gave the Panthers a 50-45 lead heading into the final quarter.
Driving to the lane and timely free throw shooting proved to be essential to HPU's success in the fourth period as well. Scheier made five free throws in the final minute to secure the 65-57 Panther victory.
