Head Coach Chelsea Banbury: "I thought tonight was good for the fact that we got everybody a chance to play, and it was brought to my attention that everyone also scored. So it was nice to see that we were able to have that balanced scoring, and everyone got opportunities. Early on I just thought we had a slow start, but I think a lot of it was we just weren't as aggressive attacking the basket as we should have been. I think we have people that can score, and we have talked about sharing the ball, but we weren't taking advantage of the opportunities that we had. It was something that we talked about at halftime, and I think the girls made a good adjustment. We were still getting easy shots and that's how we were able to separate. We also picked up the defensive intensity, so after a slow start I was pretty happy with what we ended up with."

Skyler Curran opened up the scoring 16 seconds into the game off an assist from Callie Scheier.

The Bishops and Panthers played a very back-and-forth battle in the first quarter with HPU slipping out a one-point lead going into the second.

High Point had a few key players off the bench to push their lead into double digits. Among the contributors was Teegan Pifher who was the first to tally points in the second quarter. Going into the half, the Panthers led by 11 points.

The third quarter started with a Claire Wyatt layup to add onto to her team-high 12 points of the night and the pressure was put on high from there.

Curran scored on back-to-back possessions and on the other end, Scheier stripped away five steals.

Nakyah Terrell made a bucket that put the Panthers up 50-27 after a run that would not end until the final buzzer sounded. HPU shot 68.8% percent from the floor, going 11-for-16 and 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.

In the fourth, Scheier had a statement takeaway and score early as Wyatt added a few layups of her own.

LaImani Simmons sealed the deal with a driving layup and the Panthers would come out on top 74-38.

UP NEXT: The Panthers host the Virginia Tech Hokies Wednesday, December 21st. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M.
