G.G. Smith"Playing a real game in front of a real crowd in Qubein Arena was really exciting for us and I'm just happy that our guys pushed hard and I'm glad that we won.  We're ready to get the season going for real on Monday."

Thiam opened up the game with back-to-back three-pointers, giving HPU the 6-2 lead.

Jaden House started his night with an and-1 from three, converting the rare four-point play with a made free throw.

High Point opened up an 18-13 lead early in the half after an Abdoulaye Thiam baseline drive to the basket sparked a 10-0 run, capped off by a Zack Austin dunk.

The Panthers closed the first half on a 10-2 run behind three-pointers from Justin Taylor and Jake Koverman to hold a 55-21 lead at the halftime break.

House opened up the second half with another and-1 play in HPU's first possession before Emmanuel Izunabor and Austin recorded back-to-back dunks to extend the run.

The Eagles had a 7-0 run early on in the half, but an Ahmard Harvey jumper ended the streak to give HPU the 64-28 lead.

High Point used another 10-straight points to hold a 78-39 lead with nine minutes left to play.

An Alex Holt hook shot, another Koverman three, and a Sam Perez free throw helped HPU reach the 100-point threshold and finish the night with the 100-61 win.
