CLINTON, S.C. – The High Point University volleyball team swept Radford on Friday evening, securing the team's fifth sweep of the season to remain undefeated in conference play. The Big South conference contest witnessed

Sydney Palazzolo combine for 22 kills in the HPU victory.

High Point jumped out on a 7-2 run early in the first set to take the 9-2 lead with two kills from Idlebird and multiple mistakes from the Highlanders.
Holding a 14-7 lead, the Panthers chipped away at the next 11 points, gaining two back-to-back kills from Dylan Mayberry to land the match point and take the 25-15 win.
Set two witnessed Radford take their first lead of the match, after a kill from their own Summer Campbell. From there the teams exchanged the lead until two errors from the Highlanders and a kill from Idlebird, started a break away for the Panthers.
A 7-2 run by High Point gave the team some cushion late in the set but Radford answered and tied the game at 17 all. Palazzolo came in clutch with a slam to put the Panthers ahead 22-21. Adding to the HPU lead was
Ally Van Eekeren who made a smart play with a dump over net to advance the Panthers lead by two. With the game tied at 23 all, two mistakes by the Highlanders gave HPU the 25-23 victory.
The third and final set was nothing short of set two as the contest experienced five different lead changes and 9 tie ups. The turning point in the set was a kill by
Maria Miggins which set High Point out on a trek for attacks. Idlebird and Palazzolo closed out the set with three kills to take the 25-19 victory in the 3-0 sweep.
