Panther Notes
The Doctor Recommended a Brace
MD Myers recorded a brace for the fifth time through eight games. Myers scored the opening goal of the contest in the 12th minute and the last goal of the game in the 80th minute.
Marcey Me
Mason Marcey recorded his first points in an HPU uniform last time out against PC as he added two assists in the 3-0 win.
"Goal Machine"
Myers has now scored ten goals in eight games. Myers entered the contest third in the nation in goals per game. He becomes one of three players in the nation to score at least ten goals. Myers is currently tied for first in-game-winning goals in the county with four.
Haines on Last Time
"First half was a little bit slow out of the gates, just the tempo of the game, then we took a little bit of time to get in a rhythm and start creating chances and get into the flow of the game," Coach Zach Haines after the 3-0 win. "Once we did we found the goal and didn't really concede much in the way of chances and then in the second half we turned it up. We were outstanding in every phase of the game, we created tons of chances, scored good goals, and were dominant with and without the ball. Incredibly proud of the second half, how we grew into the game but overall anytime you can come to Presbyterian and get a convincing result you're super happy."
Keep Holden' On
Holden Trent is tied for fourth in the nation in shutouts with five on the year. Trent added his fifth last Wednesday as the Panthers shutout the Blue Hose 3-0.
Powerful Panthers
With the conference win, the Panthers improved to 31-3-3 in Big South play since 2016. The Panthers are now 5-0 in Big South play with wins over Gardner-Webb, Radford, Campbell, Winthrop, and Presbyterian.
