The High Point University men's soccer team (8-6-3) will continue their postseason run as they face top-seeded Campbell (14-3-2) on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm in the Big South tournament final.
Big South Championship History
HPU enters the Big South Championship after doing the double a season ago winning both the regular season and the tournament title. The 2020-2021 Big South Tournament title was HPU's first tournament title in program history. This will be the sixth time HPU has reached the Big South Championship game and the third time in the Haines era. Zach Haines has led HPU to the conference championship game each year he has been head coach. The 2021 title game is a rematch of the 2019 championship game in Buies Creek where Campbell was victorious. The rematch is set.

The Camels lead the all-time series with HPU by a record of 8-12-5.The Panthers and Camels met just two weeks ago for a regular season matchup in which the teams battled to a scoreless draw.

The Camels are entering Sunday afternoon's game after a dominant 7-0 win over Winthrop in the Big South Semifinals on Wednesday night. Tyler Young leads the Camels in points with nine goals and nine assists on the season.

Haines on Last Time Out
"I'm really excited for the guys, they put together a complete game. I thought that coming into it we knew we had confidence, especially on the defensive side we have been keeping a lot of clean sheets and have done really well on that side of it. We were creating chances but the goals just were not quite coming for us as of late and really throughout a large part of the season. So I am really happy for the guys on both sides of the ball because they get the clean sheet and some of these guys who have been working so hard to create chances all year long for us to get the finishing product on some good goals for us. An all-around great performance, super happy for the guys."

The winner of the Big South Championship game will advance to the NCAA tournament beginning next weekend. The selection show is set for November 15th at 1 pm.
