Lonnie Poole Golf Course
The High Point University men's golf team looks to continue their success after winning the Carolina Collegiate Invitational in South Carolina as it heads north to Raleigh, NC for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. The competition will take place on the weekend (Oct. 16-17) as this tournament hosted by North Carolina State concludes fall break for the Panthers.
The Field
High Point is joined by fellow Triad rivals Elon and UNCG, as well as Big South foe Campbell.
The rest of the field includes Wofford, Lipscomb, East Carolina, UNC-Wilmington, George Mason, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Furman, James Madison, Southern Mississippi, Eastern Michigan, and host North Carolina State.

Lonnie Poole Golf Course
Lonnie Poole Golf Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened for play beginning in the summer of 2009. The course was designed to provide a public golf course on North Carolina State's campus that also served as a venue for the men's and women's golf teams. The course is an 18-hole 7,350-yard par 71 course that is consistently ranked as one of the top collegiate courses in the country. This tract features a lot of variety with low-lying areas, as well as rolling fairways and trees. Lonnie Poole has hosted numerous collegiate golf tournaments, including the 2018 NCAA Regional in which former HPU golfer Brendan MacDougall competed.
Format and Schedule
The Wolfpack Intercollegiate is a two-day tournament with 36 holes played on the first day and 18 holes played on the second day. Play begins Saturday (October 16) with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 am for HPU.
The Panthers will be paired with George Mason and some individual golfers for the morning tee time.

High Point won the Carolina Collegiate Invitational hosted by Wofford. The Panthers finished with a final score of 19-under 845 to win by two shots over Florida Gulf Coast. HPU's top finisher was Avery Price, who finished in a tie for 7th place with a final score of 4-under for the tournament.
Record Breakers
High Point set multiple records during their win this past week in Spartanburg. The Panthers set the school record for the lowest round in team history with their round of 272 in Round 2 of the Carolina Collegiate. The Panthers also set the school record for the lowest 54-hole total score in history with their 845 final team score. All three of the Panthers team rounds were par or better and the Panthers were bogey-free in all counted scores in Round 2.

High Point will travel back to South Carolina to compete in the Daniel Island Intercollegiate in Charleston, SC hosted by Charleston Southern on Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
