The High Point University men's basketball team (4-9) (2-6) travels to Boiling Springs to take on Gardner Webb (6-9) (5-5) as the Big South schedule changes and evolves throughout 2021. The two-game Big South series starts on Friday (Jan. 29) and continuing Saturday (Jan. 30). Friday's game will start at 7:00 PM while Saturday's game will tip at 5:00 PM and both will be streamed on ESPN+.

  • HPU is a 14-14 against Gardner Webb since becoming a D-1 program in 1999.

  • The Runnin' Bulldogs are ranked 25th in the nation in blocks per game as they average 4.9. Ludovic Dufeal leads the team in blocks as he has 33 on the season.

Panther Notes

The Wright One

John-Michael Wright scored nearly 20 points in both nights against PC on Sunday (Jan. 24) and Monday (Jan. 25). He scored 19 points in the win on Sunday. On Monday, Wright scored 22 points against the Blue Hose.

Flowers Power

The Sophomore had a big weekend following his number one play on SportsCenter.  Ahmil Flowers scored a career-high 20 points against PC powering HPU to the victory on Sunday afternoon.

Double-Digit Dell

His double-digit performance on Monday night marked his seventh double-digit conference game performance. Lydell Elmore has started and played in all eight of HPU's conference contests.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

The Panthers' series against Charleston Southern has been moved to February 11 and 12th. The HPU men's basketball team will now travel to Gardner Webb this weekend and take on the Runnin' Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 29, Jan. 30) on the road in Boiling Springs. Both games against Gardner Webb will be streamed on ESPN+. The Charleston Southern games will remain in the Millis Center for the dates of Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.

Throughout the entire 2019-20 season, the Panthers totaled 24 dunks. After thirteen games, the Panthers already have surpassed that total with 25 jams on this season.
