The High Point University women's basketball team (0-1) hosts the College of Charleston (0-2) in its home opener on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. The game will be the Panthers' final home opener at the Millis Center as the team will move over to Qubein Arena and Conference Center next year after it opens next fall.
 
Matchup History
  • High Point is 3-0 all-time against College of Charleston but the two schools haven't played since the Panthers became a Division I program.
  • The three wins have been decided by a total of nine points between them.
  • HPU picked up wins during the 1976-77 season (80-78), 1977-78 season (80-79), and 1997-98 season (68-62).

  • The Panthers started their season at Cameron Indoor Stadium with a 93-57 loss at Duke on Tuesday (Nov. 5).
  • HPU set a single-game record against the Blue Devils, attempting 40 three-pointers throughout the contest.
  • Senior Camryn Brown led the team with 17 points, with 12 of those coming from behind the arc.
  • Joining her in double-digits was sophomore Skyler Curran, with 11. She attempted 14 triples for the second time in her career, tied for the second-most in a game for the Purple and White.
  • Redshirt freshman Jenson Edwards had a productive night as well, leading the team with seven rebounds and four assists.

Across the Bench
  • College of Charleston lost its season opener on Wednesday (Nov. 6) to George Mason 72-61 before getting doubled up at Wake Forest on Friday (Nov. 8) 106-50.
  • Sophomore Latrice Perkins is the team's leading scorer, averaging 18 points in the two games. She had a big night in the opener, scoring 26 against George Mason before fouling out. Perkins also averages 10 rebounds per game, giving her a double-double average.
  • Freshman Taylor Williams and senior Deja Ford average 9.5 points per game for CofC, with Williams leading the squad with 15 points Friday night in the Triad.
  • College of Charleston head coach Robin Harmony is in her first year at the helm, coming from Lamar University where she was named the Southland Conference Coach of the Year in 2018.
