- Carsyn Gold has been on a serious roll in Big South play, her game tying goal marked her fourth straight game with a goal or an assist. 
- Freshman Sam Gerhart had the game winning goal, this was her second total goal on the season. 
- The 2-1 win over UNCA gave HPU their 3rd Big South win and kept them undefeated in conference play. 
 
 
Asheville, NC- The Panthers came back from a 1-0 deficit and beat the UNC Asheville Bulldogs 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers only trailed for 47 seconds before finding the equalizing goal. High Point applied significant offensive pressure on the Bulldogs, outshooting UNCA 10 to 6, with 5 shots on goal compared to Asheville's 3.
 
"This is a tough win, I think Asheville gave us more of a run for our money than any team we have played this season in conference so far, kudos to them." Head coach Brandi Fontaine said. "I am really proud of our girls for pulling out the win today especially after going down a goal and being able to bounce back. That is something that has bitten us all season especially in non-conference so to have it work in our favor made me proud."
 
To start the game the Panthers controlled a majority of the possession. The Bulldogs created a breakaway opportunity in the 8th minute and took the first shot of the contest and scored to go up 1-0. The Panthers did not wait to respond, Carsyn Gold scored less than a minute later to tie it 1-1.  Gold was assisted by Juliette Vidal. Gold's goal is her third of the year which is a team high. After the game tying goal from Gold, the momentum shifted in the favor of High Point. The go-ahead goal would come for High Point in the 22nd minute off the head of Sam Gerhart. Gerhart improves to two goals on the year as a freshman.  Gerhart's goal made it 2-1.
 
Once the Panthers had a 2-1 lead, the defense stepped up and protected the one goal lead for the Panthers. The High Point defense limited UNCA to only one corner and three shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Talia Klimes ended the day with two saves.
 
The 2-1 win over UNCA gave HPU their 3rd Big South win and kept them undefeated in conference play.
