The High Point University men's soccer team (8-5-0, 4-0-0 Big South) looks to continue its winning ways in Big South Conference play when it travels to Longwood (5-7-0, 0-4) on Saturday evening (Oct. 19).
Matchup History
- The Panthers head into Saturday's match with a 10-6-2 record all-time against the Lancers, earning a 2-1 double overtime win last season at Vert Stadium.
- HPU earned the double overtime win with a goal by Ilias Kosmidis in the 107th minute while being a man down to an earlier red card.

- HPU is coming off of a 2-1 double overtime thriller on Wednesday night (Oct. 16) over Presbyterian. Jonathan Bolanos earned the game-winner for the Panthers in the 104th minute, while Kosmidis tallied the other marker in the 72nd minute after the Blue Hose went up 1-0.
- High Point is 4-0 in conference play, being one of two teams in the Big South to be undefeated amongst conference foes alongside Campbell (5-0).
- Redshirt senior goaltender Keegan Meyer became the all-time leader in shutouts in program history after earning his 25th career clean sheet in Saturday's win.
- With a victory on Saturday, the senior class will become the winningest class in program history (NCAA DI era), passing the 2018 class with 43 wins.
- Freshman defenseman Karson Kendall returns to the squad after an international call-up with the U.S. Virgin Islands National Team for their CONCACAF Nationals League games last week.
- Kendall was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Freshmen Top 100 list, the lone selection from the Big South Conference.

- Longwood heads into Saturday after dropping a 2-1 decision to Winthrop last Tuesday at home. The Lancers are winless in conference play thus far with an 0-4 record, while tallying an overall mark of 5-7.
- The Lancers five wins came against Howard, VMI and Robert Morris, the latter being on the road and the first two in Farmville.
- Longwood is led by Mikel Abando, who has a team-leading eight goals. Ander Etxani is second on the team with 16 points, recording five goals and two assists.
- Jacob Reimers has seen the bulk of the action between the pipes, appearing in 12 games with nine starts. Reimers heads into the match with a 1.18 goals against average while carring a 5-7 record with one shutout.
