The High Point University volleyball team (13-8, 5-0 Big South) squares off with fellow Big South unbeaten Winthrop (13-4, 5-0 Big South) and Gardner-Webb (2-14, 0-5 Big South) for a pair of conference matches this weekend.

Matchup History
- The Panthers are 11-28 against Winthrop and are currently on a two-match losing streak. It was all Eagles in the beginning of the series, with Winthrop winning the first 21 matches. Since then, the series has gone 11-7 in favor of High Point.
- HPU leads Gardner-Webb 22-2 head-to-head and is riding a 10-match winning streak heading into Saturday. The last time the Runnin' Bulldogs were able to defeat the Panthers was Oct. 28, 2011.

Panther Notes
- High Point stayed hot in South Carolina last weekend, extending its winning streak to five matches and 11 of the last 12.
- Junior Abby Bottomley picked up her fourth-straight Big South Defensive Player of the Week after picking up 49 digs in two matches, including 31 on Saturday against Charleston Southern. Her 400 total digs puts her eighth in the nation while her average of 5.41 per set is good for 13th.
- Megan Kratzer was named the Big South Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after recording 29 kills in the two matches last week. She's tallied double-digit kills in three-straight matches.
- Freshman Kaley Rammelsberg served up five aces in Friday's win over Presbyterian, the most for the Panthers all season. HPU leads the Big South with 120 service aces and is 25th in the nation.
Across the Bench
- Winthrop and Gardner-Webb most recently played each other, with Winthrop coming away victorious in three sets.
- The Eagles are also on a hot streak like High Point, winning 10 of their last 11 matches.
- Winthrop has the two best hitters in the Big South, with junior Morgan Bossler hitting .359 and senior Makayla Doyle at .350 to help the Eagles lead the conference as a team with a .225 hitting percentage.
- Gardner-Webb is still searching for its first Big South win of the season and is looking to snap a five-match losing streak.
- Alexandria Roycraft leads the conference in blocks per set, averaging 1.15.

Asheville comes to town on Friday, Oct. 25 for the Halloween-themed Spook and Spike match, followed by USC Upstate on Saturday. Friday's game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. while Saturday's is slated for 2 p.m.
