The High Point University men's soccer team (7-5-0, 3-0-0 Big South) returns to Vert Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 16) night to host Presbyterian (4-9-0. 2-1-0 Big South) in a midweek Big South matchup.

Matchup History
  • The Panthers head into Wednesday's match with a 9-4-3 all-time record against the Blue Hose, winning the last two matchups by a 1-0 score. The last setback against PC came in the 2017 Big South Championship where HPU fell in penalty kicks, 4-3.
  • HPU earned a 1-0 shutout win last season at Presbyterian after a goal by Siggi Benonysson. The game was the final of the 2018 regular season and secured a perfect conference regular season for the Panthers and the 2018 Big South regular season championship.

Panther Notes
  • HPU is coming off of a 1-0 win at Gardner-Webb last Saturday (Oct. 12) after a goal in the 77th minute by Ilias Kosmidis.
  • High Point is 3-0 in conference play, being one of two teams in the Big South to be undefeated amongst conference foes alongside Campbell (4-0). The Panthers handed GWU its first conference loss of the season, who now sit in third place at 3-1.
  • Redshirt senior goaltender Keegan Meyer became the all-time leader in shutouts in program history after earning his 25th career clean sheet in Saturday's win.

Across the Bench
  • Presbyterian heads into Wednesday after dropping a 6-2 decision to Campbell last Saturday. Freshman Cesar Sancho had a brace in the game for the Blue Hose to tie the game, before the Camels scored four second half goals to remain perfect in Big South play.
  • The Blue Hose currently sit in fourth place in the Big South with a 2-1 conference record while sporting a 4-9 overall mark on the season.
  • Sancho leads PC with five goals while Serigo Pinto had three on the campaign.
