Panthers Look To Continue Form At Davidson

HIGH POINT, N.C.—High Point University men's soccer looks to continue their good form on the road this season, facing off with Davidson College this Monday at 7 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a dominant 2-0 win over the Wofford Terriers this past Friday, attempting to start the season 2-0 for a second consecutive year. The Wildcats meanwhile, will be competing in their first regular season match of 2018, most recently defeating Division II program Belmont Abbey 2-0.

On the Panthers
• Junior forward Siggi Benonysson picked up the Panthers' first goal of the year in HPU's 2-0 season opener at Wofford, adding an assist later in the match, for a three-point night
• Fellow junior Bana Ganidekam provided some insurance against the Terriers, scoring in the 85th minute in Spartanburg, S.C.
• Freshman Tony Pineda, and transfer Ilias Kosmidis each tallied an assist in this year's opener, with five newcomers making their debut in Purple & White
• High Point was one of three Big South teams to open their year with a shutout, with HPU recording the sixth clean sheet of its last eight contests dating back to 2017
• Junior goalkeeper Keegan Meyer faced seven shots from the Terriers on Friday, claiming the 14th clean sheet of his three-year career with the Panthers
 
On the Wildcats
• Davidson's meeting with the Panthers will be their first contest of the regular season, after posting a 1-1-1 record in exhibition play
• The Wildcats came in ninth in the A10 Conference in 2017, on the way to an 8-7-1 record overall
• Despite making just a single start the previous year, midfielder Coleman Richards is his team's top returning point-getter, collecting three goals and a pair of assists in 2017
 
Series Notes:
• Davidson currently leads the all-time series with the Panthers by a single match, giving HPU the opportunity to even things at 3-3-4 with a win this Monday
• HPU is 0-0-2 in its last two matches with Davidson, and has not lost to the side since 2009
• The Panthers have not last in Davidson, N.C. since before making the transition to Division I
