HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University women's basketball head coach
DeUnna Hendrix has announced the hiring of Sophie Albano-Alisberg as the program's director of operations.
Â
Albano-Alisberg officially joined the staff in late June after serving as the operations coordinator for the women's basketball program at Brown University during the 2017-18 season.
Â
"We are incredibly grateful to be able to bring Sophie back to High Point," Hendrix said. All of the work that she executed behind the scenes as a student manager for four years played a vital role in our program's success. There aren't many people who represent the University better or work harder than Sophie."
Â
During her time at Brown, Albano-Alisberg coordinated team travel, recruiting trips and official visits while also scheduling practices and overseeing student managers. Prior to her season in Providence, R.I., she was a four-year student manager at High Point where she graduated with a degree in Human Relations and a minor in Sports Management in 2017.
Â
While serving as the team manager for the women's basketball team, Albano-Alisberg also worked as a facilities and operations assistant assisting with many of the department's other 15 program's gameday operations.
Â
Outside of her time at HPU and Brown, she spent summer months in 2016 and 2017 working with U.S.A. Basketball as a member of the support staff during the National Team Trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Â
Albano-Alisberg is a West Hartford, Conn. native and now resides in High Point, N.C.
