BUIES CREEK, N.C.—The No. 19/25 High Point University women's lacrosse won its seventh-consecutive game and moved to 2-0 in Big South play with an 18-9 win at Campbell on Wednesday afternoon (April 4).
 
The Panthers (8-2, 2-0 Big South) held the Camels (5-7, 1-1) scoreless for a stretch of 26:52 and scored six goals in a row to take a 16-6 lead in the second half. HPU outshot Campbell, 38-19, and only had 11 turnovers to the Camels' 20.
 
"We are happy to get a win on the road today against a very good Campbell team," HPU head coach Lyndsey Boswell said. "We had nine goal scorers and several contributors throughout the game. Our defense was solid and gave us the momentum we needed to take control of the game early in the second half. I'm excited to get back to work with these girls and continue getting better."
 
Freshman Abby Hormes recorded a team-high four goals for her seventh hat trick of the season, while senior Erica Perrotta tallied six points on two goals and four assists. Junior Allie Little registered a hat trick, while junior Samantha Herman and sophomore Ashley Britton each had two goals and an assist. Senior Brooke Stevens added a pair of goals and freshman Nicole Pugh scored her first career goal late in the second half.
 
Perrotta led the team with five draw controls and added a caused turnover. She now has 114 caused turnovers for her career, which matches Jasmine Jordan (2011-14) for the most in program history. Perrotta is also two points shy of becoming the second Panther to record 200 career points.
 
Sophomore Jill Rall made six saves in goal to pick up the win and move to 7-2 on the season. 
 
The Camels kept the game close and cut the HPU lead to one at 5-4 with 16:15 left in the first half, but the Panthers then went on an 11-2 run to break open the game. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will now host Liberty on Saturday (April 7). First draw at Vert Stadium is set for 2 p.m.
