HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. to take on East Tennessee State (ETSU) on Saturday (Dec. 29) afternoon. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in J. Madison Brooks Gymnasium on ETSU's campus.
 
The Panthers are coming off a win over American, 66-61, on Dec. 20 in the Millis Center, while the Buccaneers fell to Tennessee, 80-61, Saturday, Dec. 21, in Knoxville, Tenn.
 
History vs. East Tennessee State
This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs. The series is currently tied 2-2. ETSU took an 84-76 win in Johnson City, Tenn. on Nov. 17, 2014 in the last meeting between the two teams.

• The Panthers are 109-88 all-time under head coach DeUnna Hendrix.
 
• HPU is 16-20 all-time against Southern Conference opponents with the last meeting coming in an 82-75 win over UNCG on Dec. 1, 2018 in the Millis Center.
 
• Senior Emma Bockrath leads the Purple & White with 16.7 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game.
 
• Bockrath was named Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Dec. 3) after averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.0 steals over three games.
 
•The Dayton, Ohio native ranks second in the Big South in steals per game (3.2), scoring (16.7) and assist/turnover ratio (1.4), fourth in assists per game (3.6) and field goal percentage (.445) and eighth in rebounding (7.1). Bockrath is 18th in the NCAA in steals per game.
 
• Senior Lindsey Edwards is second in points per game for High Point at 12.7. Edwards also adds 4.8 rebounds per game.
 
• The Perry Hall, Md. native ranks fourth in the Big South in steals per game, sixth in field goal percentage and 12th in points per game. Edwards is 37th in the NCAA in steals per game.
 
• Senior Bria Gibson's 5.9 rebounds per game is second for HPU. Gibson adds 6.6 points per game.
 
• Senior Shea Morgan is third on the team in assists per game (2.4) and rebounds per game (5.3) and fourth in points per game (9.6).
 
• Morgan scored a season-high 16 points against UNCG and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds against American.
 
• Junior Camryn Brown is tops on the team and second in the Big South in assists per game at 4.4. She leads the Big South in assist/turnover ratio at 1.8. 
 
• The Copley, Ohio native is third on the team with 10.4 points per game.
 
• High Point averages 72.9 points per game, which leads the Big South.
 
• The Panthers also lead the conference in field goal percentage (.423), free throw percentage (.707), assists (16.4) and assist/turnover ratio (1.02).
 
• Freshman Skyler Curran scored a season-high 21 points in the win against Greensboro.
 
• Curran is tied for fifth on the team in points per game at 8.9 in her freshman season.
 
• She ranks first on the team and fifth in the Big South in 3-point percentage at .411. Curran is also fourth in the conference in 3-pointers made per game at 2.3.
 
• The Panthers average 11.9 steals per game, which ranks 27th in the NCAA.
 
• As a team, High Point grabbed a season-high 20 steals against Greensboro.
 
• Bockrath is tied for 18th in the NCAA in steals per game at 3.2. Edwards ranks 37th in steals per game at 2.9.
 
A LOOK AT THE BUCCANEERS (2-13)
• Erica Haynes-Overton leads the Buccaneers with 16.1 points per game, which ranks fifth in the Southern Conference (SoCon).
 
• Haynes-Overton leads the team in assists as well with 3.5 per game.
 
• Haynes-Overton ranks fourth in the NCAA and leads the SoCon in steals per game at 4.4 per game.
 
• Sadasia Tipps is the leading rebounder for ETSU at 5.5 per game.
 
• As a team, ETSU is second in the SoCon in steals per game at 8.9.
 
• ETSU is third in the SoCon in scoring with 65.4 points per game.
 
• As a team, ETSU grabs 35.4 rebounds per game and dishes out 12.8 assists per game.
 
• The Bucs shoot 40.8 percent from the field.
 
• Head coach Megan Gebbia has compiled an 84-87 overall record in her six seasons at ETSU.
 
• Prior to ETSU, she made stops at Belmont and Montevallo.
 
• Gebbia led the Buccaneers to a 20-13 record. ETSU fell in the SoCon Championship game and made an appearance in the Women's NIT.
 
DeUnna Hendrix vs. ETSU & SoCon Opponents
• HPU head coach DeUnna Hendrix is 1-1 in her career against ETSU. She has compiled a 6-6 all-time record against SoCon teams. She last faced a SoCon team Dec. 1 in UNCG. Hendrix stepped away with an 82-75 win.
 
LAST MEETING
The teams last met Nov. 17, 2014 with ETSU edging the Panthers 84-76 in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Panthers will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. on Saturday, Jan. 5, to take on USC Upstate. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on USC Upstate's campus.
