HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team will welcome American to the Millis Center Thursday (Dec. 20). Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. in the Millis Center.
 
The Panthers are coming off a 83-51 win over Norfolk State in the Millis Center, while the Eagles fell at Penn State, 80-59, Sunday (Dec. 16) in University Park, Pa.

• The Panthers are 108-88 all-time under head coach DeUnna Hendrix. In the Millis Center, Hendrix has a 59-27 record.
 
• HPU is 3-5 all-time against Patriot League opponents with the last meeting coming in the 2012-13 season. The Panthers defeated Navy 63-47 on Dec. 1, 2012.
 
• Senior Emma Bockrath leads the Purple & White with 16.1 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game.
 
• Bockrath was named Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Dec. 3) after averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.0 steals over three games.
 
•The Dayton, Ohio native ranks third in the Big South in steals per game (3.0), scoring (16.1), assists (3.8) and assist/turnover ratio (1.4), sixth in field goal percentage (.426) and eighth in rebounding (6.9). Bockrath is 31st in the NCAA in steals per game.
 
• Senior Lindsey Edwards is second in points per game for High Point at 13.2. Edwards also adds 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game.
 
• The Perry Hall, Md. native ranks fourth in the Big South in steals per game and field goal percentage and 10th in points per game. Edwards ranks 37th in the NCAA in steals per game.
 
• Senior Shea Morgan is third on the team in assists per game (2.3) and fourth in rebounds per game (4.8) and points per game (9.2).
 
• Junior Camryn Brown is tops on the team and second in the Big South in assists per game at 4.3. She leads the Big South in assist/turnover ratio at 1.8. 
• The Copley, Ohio native is third on the team with 10.0 points per game.
 
• The junior guard tied a career-high with five made 3-pointers in the first game of the 2018-19 season and against Norfolk State on Dec. 15.
 
• High Point averages 73.7 points per game, which leads the Big South.
 
• The Panthers also lead the conference in field goal percentage (.424), free throw percentage (.709), assists (16.3) and assist/turnover ratio (1.0).
 
• Freshman Skyler Curran scored a season-high 21 points in the win against Greensboro. Curran is tied for fourth on the team in points per game at 9.2 in her freshman season.
 
• She ranks first on the team and fifth in the Big South in 3-point percentage at .396. Curran is also fourth in the conference in 3-pointers made per game at 2.3.
 
• The Panthers average 11.9 steals per game, which ranks 29th in the NCAA.
 
A LOOK AT THE EAGLES (4-5)
• Kaitlyn Marenyi leads the Eagles with 13.9 points per game and 3.4 assists per game. She also grabs 4.4 rebounds per game.
 
• Marenyi ranks fourth in the Patriot league in points per game and assists per game.
 
• Cecily Carl is the leader for the Eagles on the boards with 4.7 per game.
 
• Indeya Sanders is second on the team in assists with 3.2.
 
• The Eagles are fifth in the NCAA and lead the Patriot League in free throw percentage at .803.
 
• As a team, American grabs 33.8 rebounds per game and posts 13.7 assists per game.
 
• The Eagles shoot 38.8 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three.
 
• Head coach Megan Gebbia has compiled a 99-69 overall record at American. She has coached at American since the 2013-14 season.
 
• Gebbia has taken the Eagles to two NCAA Tournaments.
 
• American received a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season and fell to UCLA.
 
DeUnna Hendrix vs. American & Patriot League Opponents
• HPU head coach DeUnna Hendrix has never faced American University. Prior to this season, the only Patriot League team she had faced was Navy. The Panthers defeated Navy 63-47 in the 2012-13 season.
 
Last Meeting
High Point defeated American 60-59 in the Millis Center on Nov. 14, 2010.

The Panthers will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. to play East Tennessee State (ETSU) on Dec. 29. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on ETSU's campus in the J. Madison Brooks Gymnasium.
