HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team will bring Norfolk State to the Millis Center on Saturday (Dec. 15) afternoon. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in the Millis Center.
 
The Panthers are coming off a loss at Clemson on Dec. 5, while the Spartans defeated Longwood, 74-42, Wednesday, Dec. 12, in Norfolk, Va.

• The Panthers are 107-88 all-time under head coach DeUnna Hendrix. In the Millis Center, Hendrix has a 58-27 record.
 
• HPU is 17-9 all-time against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opponents with the last meeting coming in the 2018-19 season and home opener. The Panthers won 80-69 win over the Eagles.
 
• Senior Emma Bockrath leads the Purple & White with 17.0 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game.
 
• Bockrath was named Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Dec. 3) after averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.0 steals over three games.
 
•The Dayton, Ohio native ranks second in the Big South in scoring (17.0) and steals per game (3.0), third in assist/turnover ratio (1.2), fifth in assists per game (3.5), sixth in field goal percentage (.437), and eighth in rebounding (7.1). Bockrath is 30th in the NCAA in steals per game.
 
• Senior Lindsey Edwards is second in points per game for High Point at 12.4. Edwards also adds 5.4 rebounds per game. She is also tied for 30th in the NCAA in steals per game with 3.0. 
 
• Senior Shea Morgan is third on the team in points per game (9.6) and assists per game (2.1) and fourth in rebounds per game (4.4).
 
• Junior Camryn Brown is tops on the team and second in the Big South in assists per game at 4.6. She leads the Big South in assist/turnover ratio at 1.8. 
 
• High Point averages 72.5 points per game, which leads the Big South.
 
• The Panthers also lead the conference in field goal percentage (.413), free throw percentage (.716), assists (15.8) and assist/turnover ratio (1.0)
 
• Freshman Skyler Curran ranks first on the team and seventh in the Big South in 3-point percentage at .375. Curran is also third in the conference in 3-pointers made per game at 2.3.
 
• The Panthers average 12.5 steals per game, which ranks 18th in the NCAA.
 
A LOOK AT THE SPARTANS (4-5)
• Raven Russell leads the Spartans and ranks 10th in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with 12.2 points per game.
 
• Raven Russell is the top shooter for the making 46.3 percent of her shots.
 
• La'Deja James is tops on the team in rebounds per game at 5.7. She also adds 12.1 points per game.
 
• Dana Echols is tops on the team and in the MEAC in assists with 4.9 per game. Echols also grabs 5.4 rebounds per game.
 
• The Spartans hold their opponents to 55.89 points per game, which ranks first in the MEAC.
 
• As a team, Norfolk State averages 37.9 rebounds per game, while only allowing opponents to grab 32.8 per game.
 
• Norfolk State leads the MEAC in free throw percentage (.711), field goal percentage (.395), 3-point field goal percentage defense (24.5), rebounding defense (32.8) and rebounding margin (+5.1).
 
• Head coach Larry Vickers is in his third full season at the helm for the Spartans. He has compiled a 40-39 record over the three seasons.
 
• Vickers took over at Norfolk State in the last 11 games as the interim head coach during the 2015-16 season.
 
• Last season against HPU, Russell led the Spartans' returners with 12 points against, while Khadedra Croker grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
 
DeUnna Hendrix vs. Norfolk State & MEAC OPPONTENTS
• HPU head coach DeUnna Hendrix has compiled a 2-0 record against Norfolk State. Prior to this season, the only MEAC team she had faced was Norfolk State. The Panthers' 80-69 win over N.C. Central in the season opener gave her a 3-0 record over opponents from the conference.
 
LAST MEETING
The teams met last season with the Panthers taking a 59-56 win in Norfolk, Va. Bockrath led HPU with 14 points, while Edwards grabbed a team-high seven boards.
 
NEXT UP
The Panthers will welcome American University to the Millis Center on Dec. 20. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
