Panthers Continue Perfect Conference Season at Campbell

HIGH POINT, N.C.— Just a few wins away from clinching the top-seed in this year's Big South Conference tournament, High Point University men's soccer looks to continue its perfect conference record against Campbell this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Panthers are currently 5-0 when playing conference opponents, and can secure a share of the Big South regular season title, and a third-seed or better in the conference tournament, with a victory over the Camels in the midweek.

High Point was in the national spotlight again after defeating one of the top teams in the country, on the road last Tuesday. The Panthers defeated No. 5/14 Duke in Durham to cap off their non-conference schedule, winning by a final of 1-0. High Point's win launched them to No. 25 in the latest RPI poll, while 'TopDrawerSoccer' named the club the No. 16 team in the country this past Monday. The Panthers' 'TopDrawer' ranking is the highest any High Point men's team has been designated in a single poll, and is just two spots shy of the highest in HPU athletics history.

On the opposing side, Campbell is fresh off its own 1-0 shutout win, defeating Gardner-Webb on the road this past Saturday. Like the Panthers, the Camels have a game in hand on the majority of their fellow Big South members, currently holding a fifth seed with their 3-2 conference record.

As the two highest goal producing sides in the Big South, Wednesday's contest is scripted to be an exciting one, as the Camels look for back-to-back wins over HPU and the Panthers chase their first perfect Big South record since 2010.
