HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team carries a three-game winning streak into Kimmel Arena on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to take on UNC Asheville.

The Panthers (7-5, 1-0) opened Big South play with a thrilling 83-80 overtime victory over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday. The same night, the Bulldogs (5-8) earned a convincing road victory at Campbell to start 1-0 in league action.

Quick Hitters
• Camryn Brown is averaging 17.7 points per game hitting an incredible 25-of-44 (.568) of her three-point attempts. Meanwhile, the sophomore is hitting 6-of-27 (.222) from downtown to average 8.5 points per home contest.

• Emma Bockrath has scored in double figures in all four previous meetings with the Bulldogs including a 22-point outburst in the most recent meeting between the two teams.

• Bockrath - the reigning Big South Player of the Year - has scored in double figures 27 times in 39 career contests against Big South Conference foes.

• During her first season as the team's main point guard, Brown is second in the Big South and 82nd nationally with a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

• Behind Brown's play at the point, the Purple & White are 86th in the country in turnovers (16.0/game) after placing 119th last season (19.2/game).

• The Panthers are 65-32 against conference foes under DeUnna Hendrix. That's the second-best mark in the league during her tenure at High Point trailing only Liberty.
• During Hendrix's first five years on the HPU sideline, the team has gone 29-19 on the road against Big South opponents.

• Hendrix's Purple & White are 1-4 in its road openers in conference play after falling to Liberty in snowy Lynchburg, Va. last winter.

• The Panthers are looking to go 2-0 in league play for the third time during Hendrix's tenure. HPU's best start came in 2014-15 when the team won its first three league outings. However, as an assistant, Hendrix helped the Panthers open league play 9-0 in 2011-12.

• HPU is the only Big South team with three players in the top-10 in scoring with Harris (5th), Brown (6th) and Bockrath (8th).

• Averaging 14.7 helpers per outing, the Purple & White pace the Big South and rank 118th nationally in assists.

Sharpshooters Finding Their Strokes
• The Panthers lead the Big South and rank seventh nationally drilling 40.5 percent of their three-point attempts this season. Incredibly, that's 4.8 percent higher than that season when the team's 35.7 percent mark broke the program's single-season record.

• The 40.5 percent mark trails only Charleston Southern's 2009-10 squad for the Big South single season record. That team hit 44.2 percent of its three-point attempts.

• Camryn Brown and Kat Harris are No. 1 and No. 2 in the Big South and rank among the top-50 nationally in three-point percentage. Brown's 43.7 mark is 38th while Harris' 43.3 clip puts her four spots behind her running mate at 42nd.

Defensive Learning Curve
Playing a more up-tempo defense under associate head coach Heather Kearney, the Panthers are limiting opponents to 27 percent shooting from beyond the arc, but have shown a tendency to get in foul trouble. HPU ranks 347 out of 349 teams in fouls per game (23.7/game).

Consecutive Starts Record
Emma Bockrath has started every game of her career - 73 contests - to tie Candyce Sellars for the HPU D-I consecutive starts record.

Reserves Needed
• The Panthers are 6-1 when the bench outscores their opponent's reserves and 1-4 when that margin is reversed.

• HPU averages a 28.6-18.6 edge in its wins and a 19.4-14.6 deficit in losses. Harris has accounted for 57 of the 73 bench points in the team's five losses.

All-Time Series with UNC Asheville
HPU went on a 13-0 run from 2009 to 2016 to build a 34-11 lead in the all-time series. The Bulldogs snapped the streak taking both meetings in 2015-16, but the Panthers won both outings last season to move to 36-13 all-time. HPU's success has translated to the road where the team in 15-5 overall and 4-1 under Hendrix in the series.

Scouting the Bulldogs
UNC Asheville went 3-8 in non-conference play with six losses by 10 or fewer points before opening Big South action with a road win against Campbell - the second place team in the preseason poll. A trio of veterans, seniors Bronaza Fitzgerald and Khaila Webb and junior Jessica Wall, anchors the team. Fitzgerald leads the team with 12.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Webb averages 11.7 point while leading in assists as Wall provides the outside threat hitting a conference-best 34 three's.

Matchup to Watch
When UNC Asheville has the ball, stopping Fitzgerald will be the key for the Panthers front line. However, HPU's sharpshooters could get open looks against the Bulldog defense that ranks 298th nationally in three-point percentage defense on the year.
