High Point Notes:
• Last time out, the Panthers opened Big South competition with a 3-0 win at UNC Asheville. Redshirt-sophomore Bana Ganidekam collected his first multi-goal game while sophomore Ryan Inman scored his first goal of the season.
• Sophomore Keegan Meyer recorded his second shutout of the season, making four stops in the victory. He was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week after making 11 stops in 194:01 across two games last week.
• Four of the Panthers' last six games have gone past regulation, something not uncommon in recent years. With the loss at Wake Forest, 20 of HPU's 48 games under head coach EJ O'Keeffe have needed OT. HPU holds a 3-4-13 record when extra time is needed.
• High Point has won or tied 31 of its last 42 games (21-10-11) dating back to 2015. Of the 42 matches, 29 have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie.
• HPU has seen six of its first eight games this year decided by one goal or end in a tie. The tight contests have been the norm in three seasons under O'Keeffe, who is 12-9 in one-goal games.
• The Panthers have shown their scoring depth this season with their 10 goals coming from seven different players. Overall, 10 different players have recorded a points so far this year.

Appalachian State Notes:
• Appalachian State is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 19 Duke on Tuesday. The Panthers and Mountaineers share three common opponents in Duke, Wake Forest, and UNCG (APP: 0-3, HPU: 1-2).
• The Mountaineers have scored eight goals this season, but have been held to one goal in its last five games. Juan Hernandez (2G, 1A) leads the team with five points.
• Jake Chasteen has played every minute in goal for App, holding a 1.29 GAA with a .750 GAA.
• App has performed better at home this season, recording a result in three of its four matches in Boone (2-1-1).

Series Notes:
• The Panthers and Mountaineers are meeting for the 17th time and for the first time in the regular season in nine years.
• The two teams are familiar with one another though, having met in exhibitions the last six season. App State has won the last three exhibitions after HPU was victorious in the first three.
• HPU is making its first trip to Boone since 2007, a 2-0 loss. High Point won the last overall meeting in 2008, 2-1, at Vert Stadium.
• App State represents the Panthers' second Sun Belt opponent of the season, also defeating Howard, 1-0, in the season opener. ASU defeated Longwood 1-0 in its only Big South match.
