Â
Starting Strong on the Road
• The Panthers are 2-0 in road Big South contests for the first time since 2013. That fall, HPU's third road match was a 3-1 victory at Campbell to move to 3-0 away from the Millis Center.
Â
• Overall, HPU is 4-1 in its opponents' gyms this season including the wins over Ohio and Northern Illinois. It's the first time in the program's Division I era the team has won four of its first five road matches.
Â
Killin' It in Conference Play
• Livingston is hitting .390 in 31 career matches against Big South foes.
Â
• Senior
Haley Barnes has double-doubles in both Big South contests this season and has 22 in the 32 league matches since the beginning of her sophomore season.
Â
Diggin' this College Thing
Bottomley leads the Big South and is among the top six freshmen nationally with 5.22 digs per set this season.
Â
Climbing the Record Books
• Barnes needs 17 digs to pass Jamie Kaufman and Kim Anderson for 10th in HPU's Division I digs rankings.
Â
• Likewsie, Barnes' 120 aces is one behind Kristina Taylor (4th) and four behind Michelle Feiser (3rd).
Â
• Senior
Carly Jimenez has dished out 1,369 helpers in the Purple & White, which is good for eighth in HPU's career ranks.
Â
• Last week, Livingston passed Stephanie Wallin for fifth in career blocks at 263 while junior
Jordan Hefner is seventh with 256.
Â
Battle of Big South Leaders
Campbell's Allena Heath leads the Big South in kills (3.91/set) while HPU's Bottomley paces the league in digs (5.22/set).
Â
Scouting the Camels
Campbell won its first five matches en route to a 10-4 non-conference record. However, the squad dropped two road matches at UNC Asheville (3-1) and Winthrop (3-0) on the opening weekend of Big South action. The attack leans heavily on Heath and Jessica Stocking who combine for over half the team's attack attempts and nearly half the kills. Meanwhile, its seniors Kayla Schanback – 4.02 digs per set – and Summer Schuitema – 8.76 assists per set – are vital in the teams' ball control efforts.
Â
All-Time Series with Campbell
High Point is 15-13 against the Camels while the two squads have split the dozen matches as Big South foes.
Â
Last Time They Met
The Panthers earned a five-set win at Campbell last year before the Camels came back a month later with a five-set win in the Millis Center.
Â
Next Up
The Purple & White finally play a home league match on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Radford.
