High Point Notes:
• The Panthers have dropped five straight matches, including a 5-1 setback at Elon last Sunday. Freshman Mackenzie Mullins scored her first career goal for HPU's tally.
• The Purple & White saw 27 players play in the match, including all 25 available position players and two goalkeepers.
• HPU's five-game losing streak is its longest since 2013 when the team started 0-5. However, the Panthers won their next four games and finished the regular season with eight wins in the final 13 games.
• The Panthers have been outshot in the first eight games of the season, 151-57. In their last game, though, HPU held a 13-11 edge in shots, the first time it has won that battle this season.
• HPU has scored just four goals in its first eight games, tied for the fewest in the Big South. It's also the lowest total through eight contests since Marty Beall's first season in 2009 (1 goal in 11 games). That year, HPU ended up winning the Big South tournament and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
• High Point has used a different lineup in every match this season. Only six players (Lloyd, Micciche, Rolfe, Romano, and  Rombach) have started every game.

Marshall Notes:
• Marshall is playing its second game in three days after dropping its C-USA opener, 3-0, at Charlotte Friday. The Thundering Herd saw a two-game winning streak come to an end.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Bonelli made 12 saves against the 49ers, tying her career high set earlier this year and finishing one shy of the program record.
• Marshall has battled two Big South opponents in Longwood (L 2-1, 2OT) and Gardner-Webb (W 1-0, OT). The Herd and Panthers have a common opponent in Ohio, both earning 1-0 victories.
• The Herd have four players who have scored one goal this season. The defense has allowed 14 goals, 11 coming after half.

Series Notes:
• The Panthers and Thundering Herd are meeting for the second time in school history and for the first time at Vert Stadium.
• The only previous matchup came in 2007 as part of the Thundering Herd Nike Invitational in Huntington, W.V.. HPU came away with a 3-1 triumph thanks to two first half goals.
• HPU is 2-4-0 all-time against current members of Conference USA with victories over Marshall and Middle Tennessee State.
• High Point last played a C-USA team in 2011, dropping a 4-2 contest at Charlotte.
