High Point Notes:
• Last time out, HPU fell at Elon, 3-0. It marked the first time in four games this season that the Panthers had been shut out. The Phoenix took the lead on a PK late in the first half and added two late goals to account for the final margin.
• The loss was just the ninth in the last 38 games for the Panthers, who have won or tied 29 of their last 38 games (20-9-9) dating back to 2015. Of the 38 matches, 26 have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie.
• HPU has seen three of its first four games this year decided by one goal. The tight contests have been the norm in three seasons under head coach EJ O'Keeffe, who is 12-8 in one-goal games. With the loss at Duke, the Panthers are now 3-3-11 in OT games during the last three seasons.
• High Point has ceded six goals in its last two contests, a break from its recent strong play defensively. Prior to the game at Duke, HPU had allowed six goals in its prior seven-plus games (870:11) dating back to a match at NC State in 2016.
• The Panthers have shown their scoring depth this season with their five goals coming from four different players (plus an own goal). Last year's leading scorer, Siggi Benonysson has not registered a goal and has recorded just two shots in four games.

Davidson Notes:
• Davidson is a perfect 4-0-0 on the year, its best start to a season since 1980. The four victories equals last season's total for the Wildcats, when they finished 4-12-1.
• All four of Davidson's victories have come against Big South teams (Presbyterian, Radford, UNC Asheville, and Winthrop).
• The Wildcats scored twice in the final 20 minutes on Saturday to defeat Winthrop, 2-1. Louis Evans scored the game-winner in the 85th minute.
• Davidson has yet to be shut out in four contests (8 goals), and have posted one shutout on the year (vs. Radford, 1-0).

Series Notes:
• HPU and Davidson meet for the ninth time in school history, six of which have come in High Point's Division I era (since 1999).
• The Panthers and Wildcats last met in 2015, a 1-1 draw at Davidson. Justen Shear provided the goal for High Point in the 11th minute, his first career goal at HPU.
• The double overtime contest was hotly contested with a combined seven yellow cards despite only 24 fouls being called.
• HPU has not defeated Davidson since 2008, a 3-2 victory at Alumni Stadium. The Purple & White have earned a result in the three trips to Davidson during the Div. I era (2-0-1).
