HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University men's lacrosse team battled back in the second half, but fell to Furman, 13-8, in Southern Conference action Saturday afternoon (April 15) at Vert Stadium.

The Paladins (6-6, 5-0 SoCon) scored the first five goals and built an 8-3 lead in the third quarter, before the Panthers (3-9, 1-4) pulled off four goals in a row, including two man-up goals by senior
Michael LeClair, to cut the lead to one at 8-7. Furman then scored five of the last six to pick up the win.

"Hats off to Furman, who played hard today and executed at a high level," HPU head coach
Jon Torpey said. "We had a few opportunities to get back into the game in the third quarter and while I enjoyed seeing our guys battle back, we have got to figure out a way to eliminate our mistakes. I look forward to getting back out on the field Monday."

Furman held a slim advantage in shots, 33-29, and at the faceoff 'X', 13-10. The Paladins also led in ground balls, 28-20.
