HARRISONBURG, Va.—The High Point University women's lacrosse team fell at No. 19 James Madison, 15-4, Saturday afternoon at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va.

High Point (0-3) held an 18-15 advantage in ground balls and both teams committed 16 turnovers, but JMU (4-1) had more shots, 26-21, and ground balls, 18-15.

"When this team puts everything together, it's going to be a lot of fun," HPU head coach Lyndsey Boswell said. "I thought we were very good on the draw and in creating opportunities for ourselves today, but there was still a huge lack of execution on our offensive end. We are getting some great looks. I'm excited about getting back to work this week and preparing for another tough opponent at home next weekend."

The Dukes jumped out to a 4-0 lead before junior Darla Poulin scored her fourth of the season with 13:32 to go in the first half. Fellow junior Erica Perrotta tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the season three and a half minutes later to cut the lead to 4-2, but JMU scored the next six goals to end the half. Perrotta has recorded multiple points in every game this season.

In the second half, junior Brooke Stevens scored off a feed from Perrotta and freshman Glory Johnson scored her first collegiate goal to close out the scoring.

Up next, the Panthers play their home opener March 5 against Oregon. First draw at Vert Stadium is set for noon.
