HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Friday morning (Nov. 10) at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.

The women's 6K race will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the men's 10K contest following at 11:30 a.m. The top-2 teams will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, to be held Nov. 18 in Louisville, Ky. Once the team field is determined on Saturday (Nov. 11), the top-4 individuals from each region not on an NCAA-selected team will be invited to the NCAA Championships.

Last time out the Panther women won their fourth Big South Championship and third in four years Oct. 28 in Lynchburg, Va. High Point had all five scorers earn All-Big South honors and had nine runners in the top 19. Freshman
Famke Heinst won the individual championship, becoming the third Panther to win the title and the first Big South freshman to win since 2006. Heinst was named Big South Runner and Freshman of the Year, while HPU women's head coach
Remy Tamer was named Big South Coach of the Year.

On the men's side, the Panthers finished sixth at the Big South Championships. Freshman Hocine Bouchark earned All-Big South honors with an eighth-place finish, while fellow freshman
Siro Pina Cardona and junior
Patrick Van Der Cruyssen placed 28th and 38th, respectively.
