High Point Notes:
• The Panthers are participating in their second Big South Championship in the last three years and fourth overall. HPU is 0-2-1 in its three previous trips including a loss at home against No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina in 2010.
• High Point has won six in a row, the longest stretch for the program since 2010 and the third-longest active winning streak in the nation, trailing only Akron (W9) and W. Michigan (W7).
• HPU defeated Liberty 3-1 in the league semifinals, scoring all three goals in the first half. Sophomore
Connor Cesar netted a pair of tallies in a four-minute span to provide the difference.
• Sophomore keeper
Keegan Meyer has turned the corner over his last 12 matches. In that stretch, he has allowed just five goals in 1114:52 in net (0.40 GAA). Meyer leads the Big South in GAA (0.78) and save percentage (.797) and earned first team honors.
• Meyer missed 23 minutes on Wednesday with a cut on his face from a save. His personal scoreless streak stands at 387:33. The sophomore ranks 29th nationally in GAA and 32nd in save pct.
• The Panthers allowed only three goals against Big South foes and only trailed in one game - a 1-0 loss vs Campbell. HPU has allowed the first goal only twice in its last 11 games (8-2-1).
Presbyterian Notes:
• Presbyterian is appearing in its first conference title game since becoming eligible for the postseason in 2012. The Blue Hose beat No. 3 Campbell and defeated No. 2 Radford in PK's to advance.
• The Blue Hose are 2-1-2 in the league tournament, making just their third tournament appearance in school history.
• Senior keeper Connor Behrend made eight saves against Radford and a crucial stop in PK's to help PC advance. His .779 career save percentage is fourth all-time in the Big South.
• Clement Vannier is the team's top point-getter with 12 (5G, 2A). He is one of five players to score multiple goals this year.
Series Notes:
• Both High Point and Presbyterian enter Sunday's match seeking their first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
• HPU clinched the Big South regular season title against Presbyterian, winning on a goal from sophomore
Siggi Benonysson with 2.4 seconds remaining in the match.
• The goal prevented a third straight matchup that would've required extra time. High Point has secured at least one point in 10 of the last 11 matchups with the Blue Hose.
• The Panthers held a 10-5 edge in shots in the regular season meeting, holding PC without a shot on goal in the second half.
