HIGH POINT, N.C. - The High Point University women's soccer team returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014 as they travel to take on No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday. Kickoff from WakeMed Soccer Park is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

High Point Notes:
• The Panthers won the Big South Tournament for the sixth time in program history, defeating Longwood 1-0 on Sunday. For just the second time in program history, HPU won the regular season and tournament titles in the same campaign.
• The Purple & White have tied a program record with seven straight wins, matching a stretch from the 2014 season.
• High Point's sixth Big South tournament title tied Liberty for the most in league history. The current senior class accrued its school-record 50th win and are in the NCAA for the second time.
• HPU is seeking its first-ever NCAA Tournament result. The Panthers are 0-5 in their first five chances, coming the closest against UNC in 2009 in a 1-0 setback. HPU Athletics has won one NCAA Tournament game (2017 Women's Lacrosse vs Towson).
• The Panthers tied a program record with their 13th win on Sunday. HPU has won at least 12 games in each of the last four seasons, including 13 in back-to-back years.. Prior to this current stretch, HPU had never won more than 11 games in a single year.
• High Point has pitched 11 shutouts, including four in the last five matchups. The 11 shutouts tied for the most in the Big South and are tied for 15th-most in the NCAA.

North Carolina Notes:
• North Carolina enters the NCAA Tournament off an ACC Tournament Championship and as a No. 1 seed.
• The Tar Heels are the only program to have competed in all 36 NCAA Tournaments, having won the national championship 21 times and finished as national runner-up three times.
• UNC advanced to the College Cup a year ago for the first time since 2012, ignited by a 3-0 victory over Big South foe Liberty in the first round.
• The Heels' ACC Tournament Championship was their first since 2009 and 21st in the event since 1988.

Series Notes:
• High Point and North Carolina have met three times previously, all in the NCAA Tournament.
• The Panthers fell against the Tar Heels in their first three trips to the NCAA in 2003 (8-0), 2007 (6-1), and 2009 (1-0). UNC went on to win the national title two of those years (2003 and 2009).
• High Point is facing its second nationally-ranked opponent of the season, joining then-No. 3 South Carolina (L 3-0).
• HPU has faced the No. 4 team in the nation in each of last four trips to the NCAA in addition to No.1 North Carolina in 2003.
