HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team puts its 13-match winning streak on the line this weekend when it hosts Campbell and Presbyterian in the Millis Center on Friday and Saturday.

The Panthers (18-6, 11-0) kept its streak going last weekend earning wins at UNC Asheville and Winthrop. Similarly, the Camels have won their last six matches after picking up road triumphs at Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian last weekend.

PANTHER NOTES
Streaks!
• High Point's 13-match winning streak is tied with BYU and Fairfield for the fourth-longest active streak in the nation. Ironically, HPU has dropped matches to two of the three teams with longest streaks (VCU and Cal Poly).

• The 11 consecutive Big South wins is the league's longest streak since Coastal Carolina went 14-0 in 2015.

• Including the end of the regular season and conference tournament, HPU has won 16 straight Big South matches.

Starting from the Bottom(ley) Now We're Here
• Freshman Abby Bottomley is 23rd in the nation and tops in the Big South with 5.39 digs per set. That average is also fifth among freshmen nationally.

• Her 469 digs are the third most by a freshman in HPU's Division I era.

• The Virginia Beach, Va. product has been named Big South Defensive Player of the Week three times – including each of the past two weeks – and the Freshman on the Week twice this fall.

Coming Up Aces
• High Point is 11th in the nation and leads the conference with 1.71 aces per set this season, which is the third-highest average in the program's Division I era.

• Likewise, senior Haley Barnes leads the Big South and is No. 11 nationally with 0.51 aces per frame.

• HPU has out-aced every Big South opponent this season and have racked up 78 aces to its opponents' 21.

Record Watch
• Junior Molly Livingston is on pace to crush HPU's D-I single-season hitting percentage carrying a .395 clip in the weekend. The current record is .324 and was set by Lindsay Raus in 2008.

• The Panthers are hitting .246 as a team this fall with the prior mark being set by the 2012 squad that hit .224.

Barnes' Decorated Career
• Barnes has amassed 1,322 career kills and could pass Kristin Heldt (1,341) and Chelsea Davis (1,346) and move into the top-4 in HPU's D-I career kills list.

• Barnes' next dig will tie her with Davis for seventh in career digs with 1,098.

Reaching New Heights
• The Panthers are ranked 52nd in the RPI, which is the highest the program has ever been ranked in the poll.

• High Point is one place away from joining the VolleyballMag.Com Mid-Major Poll.

#Winning
• The senior class of Haley Barnes, Carly Jimenez and Amy Pilat have been a part of 39 Big South wins, just one fewer than the 2010 class, which holds the HPU record.

• The trio ranks fourth in HPU's Division I era winning 75 contests overall. They could catch 2008 (76) and 2009 (77) this weekend and move to second behind the 2010 class' 89 D-I victories.

20-20-20
With 18 wins, the Purple & White are two victories away from becoming the first class in HPU's D-I era to win at least 20 matches in three straight seasons.

Clinching a Bye
A win over Campbell would allow the Panthers to clinch a bye into the semifinals. Meanwhile, two wins this weekend would tie this group with the 2008 and 2010 teams for the most Big South wins in a season (13).

KNOW THE OPPONENT
All-Time Series with Campbell
All-Time 16-13
Big South 7-6
At High Point 6-7

Last Time They Met
On Sept. 26, the Panthers went to Buies Creek, N.C. and came away with a sweep – the first regular season sweep in the series since 2011. The Purple & White served up 14 aces and hit .333 to cruise to 25-10, 25-19 and 25-22 wins.

Scouting the Camels
Perhaps the second hottest team in the Big South, Campbell has won six straight matches losing just three sets during that run. The attack leans heavily on Allena Heath and Jessica Stocking who combine for 7.24 kills per set. But during Big South play freshman Hannah Schneggenburger is fifth in the conference hitting .329 against league foes.

All-Time Series with Presbyterian
All-Time 13-3
Big South 13-3
At High Point 7-1

Last Time They Met
Livingston and fellow junior Katie Tylman combined for 24 of HPU's 48 kills in the Panthers' 3-0 sweep at Presbyterian on Oct. 6. High Point cruised to a 25-17 win in the first, but needed to erase multi-point deficits late in the second and third sets to complete the sweep (28-26, 25-23).

Scouting the Blue Hose
While HPU and Campbell enter the weekend on winning streaks, PC has dropped its last four consecutive matches. Erin Eulitz leads the squad who averages 2.91 kills and 2.94 digs per frame on the year. The Blue Hose begin their weekend at Radford on Friday night.

NEXT UP
The Panthers wrap up their home slate next weekend when they play host to Charleston Southern and Winthrop. The Winthrop game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. will be the Senior Day contest for Barnes, Jimenez and Pilat.
