High Point Notes:
            • High Point opened Big South play with a 2-1 win over preseason favorite Liberty on Saturday night at Vert Stadium, improving to 5-4-1 overall and 1-0-0 in the Big South.
            • Redshirt-senior Kelsey Perrell scored both goals in the win over the Flames and was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week.
            • The home contest against Liberty was High Point's first at Vert Stadium in seven games. The Panthers were coming off a six-game road trip in which they went 2-4-0 with all four losses coming against Power 5 opponents.
            • Perrell leads HPU and is tied for the Conference lead with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Three other HPU players have multiple goals, including redshirt-junior Bailey Beattie who is second on the team with six points on two goals and two assists.  All told, eight players have combined to score 15 goals for High Point.
            • Junior Alex Hank has started all 10 games for HPU in goal and has a 1.89 goals-against average with a .721 save percentage. In six games against non-Power 5 opponents she is 4-0-1 and has allowed just five goals while posting two shutouts.
 
Gardner-Webb Notes:
            • Gardner-Webb is 4-6-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the Big South after a thrilling 1-0 overtime win at Presbyterian College on Wednesday. Sophomore Samuelle Grove scored in the 109th minute to give the Runnin' Bulldogs all three points on the road.
            • Gardner-Webb also has wins over New Hampshire, South Carolina State and Alabama State this season.
            • The Runnin' Bulldogs feature a three-headed attack that has combined for 10 of the their 14 goals this season. Senior Brandi Arey leads the team with four goals and 10 points while Grove and junior Jessica Ferguson sit just behind her with three goals each. Freshman Eline Glamsland leads GWU in assists with three through her first 12 collegiate games.
            • Sophomore Keely Brown has started all 12 games between the pipes for Gardner-Webb and is 4-6-2 with a 1.56 goals-against average and a .785 save percentage. She has recorded clean sheets against USC Upstate, New Hampshire and Presbyterian.
 
Series Notes:
            • High Point is 8-2-3 in 13 all-time meetings with Gardner-Webb.
            • The Panthers picked up a 2-0 road win in Boiling Springs, N.C., last season with goals coming from Paige Rombach and Meg Kowalski.
