HIGH POINT, N.C. – A week after opening the season with a 2-1 mark in the Big Orange Bash, the High Point University volleyball team will take part in the Tussle in the Triad. The tournament – which is being co-hosted by HPU, Elon and UNCG – will feature a round-robin tournament with those three programs and Youngstown State.
The Panthers open their home slate on Friday at 5 p.m. against UNCG in the Millis Center. The following morning the Purple & White will make the short trip to Elon to take on the Phoenix at 11 a.m. Later that day, the weekend wraps up with a home match against Youngstown State at 7 p.m. in the Millis Center.

Haley Barnes and sophomore
Molly Livingston led the way for HPU in the Big Orange Bash earning all-tournament honors.
• Livingston also earned Big South Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 1.0 blocks and 2.3 kills per set.
• Barnes led the offense with 3.75 kills per set and was second on the squad with 2.17 digs per frame.
• HPU hit .228 on the opening weekend while holding its opponents to a .197 mark.
• The season-opening win over Wofford was the first collegiate head coaching win for
Tom Mendoza.
• Last season HPU bested Elon in five sets at home and fell to UNCG in four sets on the road.
