HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team heads to Radford on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. showdown.
 
The Panthers (6-12, 5-4) came up one basket shy of a four-game winning streak against UNC Asheville on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Highlanders (10-8, 6-3) suffered a four-point loss to Gardner-Webb to snap their own five-game streak.
 
Last Time Out
• The Panthers led by as many as five points in the fourth quarter, but couldn't hold on as UNC Asheville pulled out a thrilling 82-81 victory in the Millis Center on Saturday.
 
• HPU's offense had its second-most prolific outing of the year scoring 81 points with five players scoring in double digits.
 
• Junior Kaylah Keys anchored the offense with 21 points, five assists and two steals.
 
• Sophomore Kat Harris registered a career-high 18 points including a clutch three-point play to knot the score with 13 seconds left.
 
• Freshman Haleigh Hatfield tallied her second double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
• Freshmen Emma Bockrath (13 points and seven rebounds) and Lindsey Edwards (10 points and seven rebounds) rounded out the double-figure scorers.
 
Youth Movement
• Freshman Haleigh Hatfield posted 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest this week. She posted a career-high 20 points at Winthrop and followed that up with her second double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds against UNC Asheville.
 
• HPU's seven freshmen are logging 64 percent of the team's minutes and are scoring 57 percent of HPU points and grabbing 61 percent of the squads steals this season.
 
Lindsey Edwards (8.9 ppg) and Emma Bockrath (8.8 ppg) are second and third respectively among Big South freshmen scoring leaders.
 
• Edwards is shooting .477 from the floor, which is the best mark in the conference, while Hatfield is second among league freshmen with 5.2 rebounds per contest.
 
Keys' Climb
• Keys is fourth on HPU's Division I scoring list with 1,286 points in just two-plus seasons after passing Stacia Robertson on Saturday.
 
Scouting the Highlanders
• The 71-66 loss to High Point on Dec. 5 sent Radford on 2-5 skid. However, the squad bounced back to win its next five games before falling 54-50 at Gardner-Webb on Saturday.
 
• Senior Aisha Foy is the key to the offense scoring 13.6 points per game while hitting nearly half of the team's three-pointers on the year.
 
• Radford boasts one of the most formidable frontcourts in the conference led by sophomore Janayla White the conference's leading rebounder (9.8 per game).
 
• Freshman Lydia Rivers and sophomore Jayda Worthy combine with White to post 26.3 points, 24.9 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per contest.
 
• The Highlanders specialize in defense and rebounding. The squad leads the league in field goal defense (.336), rebounding (43.3 per game), rebounding margin (10.2) and blocks (5.3 per game).
 
• Senior Gaby Gilmore is posting 13.9 points per game over the team's last eight contests despite failing to score on Saturday.
 
All-Time Series with Radford
• HPU leads the series 25-16 and have won seven of the last 10 contests.
 
Last Time They Met
• Radford is the first repeat opponent of the year for the Panthers after HPU earned a 71-66 win over the Highlanders on Dec. 5 behind four double-figure scorers.
 
Next Up
The Purple & White head to Liberty for a rematch of the 2015 Big South Championship game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
