Tickets HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Millis Center to take on Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
The Panthers (3-11, 2-3) are looking to build momentum as they host the Chanticleers (6-8, 1-4) for the final time as Big South foes.
Last Time OutThe Panthers built a 27-23 lead midway through the second quarter before the Runnin' Bulldogs answered with a 12-0 run to seize control of the game. From there, Gardner-Webb pulled away for an 82-70 win. Despite the setback, the offense posted a 53 percent shooting percentage from the floor.
Leading the efficient offensive attack, freshman
Emma Bockrath tallied a career high 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Meanwhile, junior
Kaylah Keys (13 points) and freshman
Haleigh Hatfield (11 points) gave HPU three players in double figures.
Keys' Climb• Junior
Kaylah Keys is the leading active scorer in the Big South Conference after passing Liberty's Ashley Rininger on Saturday.
• Keys is fifth on HPU's Division I scoring list with 1,250 points in just two-plus seasons.
Youth is Served• HPU's seven freshmen are logging 63 percent of the team's minutes and are scoring 54 percent of HPU points and grabbing 60 percent of the squads steals this season.
They're 'Free'• HPU is second in the league shooting 72 percent at the line.
Kat Harris (.900) and
Kaylah Keys (.809) are the top-two in the league. Meanwhile, freshman
Shea Morgan is 13-for-14 from the charity stripe this year.
Scouting the Chanticleers• The Chanticleers are 6-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Three of the wins came against non-Division I opponents with victories over Clemson, Wofford and Gardner-Webb.
• After being picked to finish 10th in the league, Coastal Carolina has been a major part of the up-and-down nature of the Big South in its last two contests. The squad opened the new year with a 59-56 win at Gardner-Webb before falling at home to Longwood (56-48).
• Thanks to CCU's win over GWU, the Big South is the only Division I conference in which every team has at least one win and one loss.
• Transfers are the key to the Chanticleer roster. The top five scorers on the team started their collegiate careers elsewhere.
• Graduate transfer Rachel Gregory leads the team in scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding (5.4 rpg).
• Redshirt-senior Nicole Isaacs (10.6 ppg) is the top shooter in the league hitting 44 percent (28-of-64) of her shots from beyond the arc.

• The Purple & White are 5-1 against the Chanticleers under head coach
DeUnna Hendrix's tutelage.
Last Time They Met• The Panthers swept the two contests with Coastal Carolina last season earning a 73-65 win at home and a 79-64 victory on the road.
