HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team travels to UNCG on Tuesday for an intra-Triad tussle at 7:00 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.

The Panthers (4-3) went 3-1 during four home matches last week and will play three more home games next weekend in the Panther Invitational (Sept. 11-12) after taking on the Spartans.

Last Time Out:
The Purple & White opened the HPU Classic with victories over South Carolina State and Loyola Maryland on a milestone-filled Friday in the Millis Center. The 3-0 sweep of the Bulldogs marked head coach Jason Oliver's 100th win at HPU. In the second match of the day, senior Wavie Chin became the 13th player in the program's Division I era to surpass 1,000 career digs. On Saturday, Georgia State knocked off High Point in the battle of the Panthers in five sets to win the HPU Classic.

Senior Annemarie Chin racked up 6.17 digs per set during the 3-match tournament and moved to third in HPU's Division I era with 1,400 career digs. Freshman Jordan Hefner joined Chin on the HPU Classic all-tournament team by compiling 2.00 kills and 1.00 blocks per set.

A Look at the Spartans:
UNCG (5-2) dropped its season opener at Liberty in straight sets, but has since won 5-of-6 with the only other loss coming to Tennessee. Last weekend, the Spartans won 5-set matches over Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech before sweeping North Florida and losing to host Tennessee.

Balance is the key for UNCG's offensive attack. The squad features five players that average at least 2.00 kills per set with sophomore Ashley Muench leading the way (2.92 kills per set). The team is hitting .188 on the season while holding its opponents to a .149 attack percentage.

On the defensive end, senior Katherine Santiago leads the Spartans with 4.80 digs per set. At the net, it's redshirt-freshman Jasmine Jones who paces UNCG with 0.88 blocks per set. Setters freshman Allison Penner (10.57 assists per set) and junior Sara Hohman (10.00 assists per set) have split time.

Last Time They Met:
On Sept. 16, 2014, the Spartans paid a visit to the Millis Center and fell in straight sets to the Panthers (25-22, 25-17, 25-22). Sophomore Camryn Freiberg had an efficient performance registering eight kills while hitting .727 and tallying two blocks. Defensively, senior Wavie Chin posted 17 digs as senior Gabi Mirand added 10 digs and 39 assists. The Panthers hit .227 while holding UNCG to just .093.

Panther Notes:
• Senior Annemarie Chin has recorded 5.54 digs per set this season and is sitting at second in the Big South.

• Sophomore Haley Barnes is fifth in the league in kills per set (3.27) and ninth in aces (0.35).

• HPU is allowing 11.29 kills per set to their opponents – the second-fewest among Big South teams. The squad is averaging 14.71 digs per set, which is fifth in the league.

• Head coach Jason Oliver is tied with his predecessor Chad Esposito for HPU's all-time Division I head coaching wins (101).

Next Up:
High Point will host another home tournament on Sept. 11-12 when Marshall, Davidson and Wake Forest come to the Millis Center for the Panther Invitational.
