High Point returns home with a record of 4-1-3 record in 2015 after playing Vanderbilt to a 1-1 draw on Sunday in Nashville, Tenn. Sophomore

The High Point defense has been very good in non-conference play this season, allowing just five goals while registering four shutouts in eight games. Persiani has played in five games with four starts and is 1-1-3 with a 0.77 goals-against average and a .857 save percentage.
USC Upstate enters Thursday's contest with a 1-6-1 record this season. The Spartans earned a win over the Citadel and played Alabama State to a 3-3 draw. Upstate is coming off a 1-0 home loss to Penn on Sunday.
Midfielder Haley Gethin leads USC Upstate with three goals and seven points through eight games. Forward Kenzie Major is tops on the team with three assists. Keeper Ellen Bright has played eight games in net for Upstate and is 1-6-1 with a 1.62 goals-against average and a .790 save percentage.
High Point is 1-0-0 all-time against USC Upstate after earning a 1-0 win over the Spartans in the teams' only previous meeting back in 2008. The Panthers were scheduled to face Upstate last season at the USC Upstate Border Classic but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather.
