HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer team will play its second-straight game against an Atlantic 10 opponent on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when the team takes on Davidson in Davidson, N.C., at 7 p.m.

High Point is coming off a close 2-1 loss to Dayton on Thursday night at Vert Stadium. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute on sophomore Avery Ryan's first goal of the season. The forward finished just in front of goal off a cross into the box by junior Renato Punyed. Dayton answered back with a penalty kick goal by Amass Amankona just one minute later then won the game in the 75th minute on a goal by James Haupt.

Ryan and freshman Ben Hietala have accounted for all of High Point's goals through the first four games of the season. The Panther defense has played well, allowing just four goals in four games and posting two shutouts. Redshirt-senior Kody Palmer has played every minute in net for HPU and is 1-2-1 with a 0.95 goals-against average and an .810 save percentage. He set a new career single-game high with 11 saves in the game against Dayton.

Davidson is 2-1-1 through the first four games of 2015 after suffering a 4-0 loss to Elon on Saturday. The Wildcats also have wins over Campbell and NC State and a draw with Wofford on their resume this season.

Six different played have scored one goal for Davidson in 2015, including Valerly Sviderskiy and Alec Rotunda who are tied for the team lead with three point. Maxi Pragnell is also tied for the team lead in points thanks to a team-high three assists. Matt Pacifici has played the majority of the minutes at keeper for Davidson and is 2-1-1 with a 1.73 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage.

High Point owns a 2-3-2 record against Davidson in seven all-time meetings. The two teams last played in 2009 when the Wildcats picked up a 3-2 win over HPU at Vert Stadium. The Panthers' last win in the series came in 2008 when they won by a score of 3-2 in Davidson.
