Kelly Hayes have been named HPU athletes of the week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

Hayes led HPU to victory at the 2015 Big South Championship while finishing as the Panthers' top runner for the sixth time in as many races this season. The Pearl River, N.Y., native placed fourth in a collegiate-best 5k time of 17:32.65 to earn all-conference honors for the second-straight season. HPU captured the Big South title for the second-consecutive season and third time in the past five years.

 Grandinali earned all-conference honors on the men's side while pacing the Panthers with a sixth-place finish in Spartanburg. The Warwick, N.Y., native crossed the finish line in 24:39.49, marking the second-best 8k finish of his career. Grandinali garnered all-conference accolades for the third-straight season while leading HPU to a third-place finish. He's one of just four HPU men's cross country athletes all time to be a three-time, all-conference honoree.

HPU student-athlete of the week honors will be given to one male and one female High Point University student-athlete each Monday throughout the 2015-16 academic year.
