LIVE STATSLIVE VIDEOHIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer team returns to the road this weekend, travelling to Farmville, Va., to face Longwood on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. The Panthers will try to move back above .500 in the conference with a win over the Lancers.
High Point is 4-4-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the Big South following a 2-0 home loss to Liberty on Wednesday. The loss was the first for the Panthers in five games.

Avery Ryan leads the Panthers with nine points on a team-high four goals and one assist. Four players are tied for the team lead in assists as redshirt-senior

The High Point defense has been one of the top defensive units in the country, ranking in the top 10 in goals-against average, save percentage and shutout percentage entering the week. Redshirt-senior
Kody Palmer has played every minute in goal for HPU and is 4-4-3 with a 0.67 goals-against average and six shutouts.
Longwood suffered a 5-1 loss to Radford on Wednesday and is now 5-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the Big South. Radford notched four first-half goals in the contest and led 5-0 when Finnlay Wyatt scored his first goal of the season for the Lancers.
Willy Miezan leads the Longwood offense and is one of the top scorers in the Big South with 15 points and seven goals through nine games. Miezan is ranked second in the conference in both goals and points. Wyatt and Christian Keilty are tied for the team lead with two assists. Carl Carpenter has started six games in goal for Longwood this season and is 3-3-0 with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .622 save percentage.
High Point is 6-5-2 all-time against Longwood, including a 3-2 home win over the Lancers last season.
