LIVE STATSLIVE VIDEOHIGH POINT, N. C. – The High Point University women's soccer team hosts Coastal Carolina in a pivotal Big South conference matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. The contest is the first half of an HPU soccer doubleheader and will be followed by men's soccer against Liberty.
High Point is coming off a 2-0 home win over Winthrop on Saturday that improved the Panthers' record to 7-2-3 overall and 2-1-0 in the Big South. Redshirt-junior

Bri Jean-Charles both scored for HPU with Jean-Charles also adding in an assist.

Michele Micciche for the team lead with six points each. Rolfe and Micciche lead the team with three goals apiece while Perrell and Jean-Charles have two goals and two assists. Sophomores
Taylor Romano and
Meredith Dunker are tied for the team lead with three assists.
The Panthers enter Wednesday's game against CCU not having allowed a goal in its last 210 minutes of action. Sophomore
Alex Persiani earned her fifth shutout of the season in the win over Winthrop and is now 4-2-3 with a 0.55 goals-against average and a .868 save percentage. She needs three more clean sheets to match the HPU Div. I single-season record for shutouts. Persiani is currently first in the conference in goals-against average and shutouts and third in save percentage.
Coastal Carolina is 7-4-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the Big South following a 1-0 overtime win against Gardner-Webb over the weekend. Daniella Famili scored the game-winning goal in the third minute of overtime with a tap in off a cross from Tara Lyons. CCU also has conference wins over Presbyterian College and Longwood.
Famili and Kayla Christian are tied for the Chanticleers' team lead with 11 points and five goals each. The CCU pair are tied for fifth in the conference in total points and tied for third in goals. Lyons and Amber Adams both have three assists topace Coastal.
Becca Austin has started every game in goal for the Chanticleers in 2015, going 7-4-0 with a 1.40 goals-against average and a .789 save percentage. The shutout of Gardner-Webb was Coastal's first of the season.
High Point is 9-8-2 in 19 all-time meetings with Coastal Carolina. The two teams met twice last season with both games going to double overtime. HPU lost to the Chanticleers on the road in the regular season by a score of 1-0 but bounced back to pick up a 2-0 win over the Chanticleers in the Big South Semifinals on two goals by
Jacky Kessler.
