COMPLETE RESULTS (PDF)CARY, N.C. – The High Point University men's cross country team sent a pod of eight runners to the Three Stripe Invite Saturday morning at WakeMed Park Cross Country Course and placed third at the event.
Duke won the Three Stripe Invite with 22 points, while East Carolina (47) finished second. The Panther B-squad took third with 64 points, while Gardner-Webb placed fourth with 114 points.
Sophomore
Vinny Todaro paced the Panther pack on the 5k course with a top-10 finish. The Newville, Pa., native crossed the finish line in 15:29.42 to place ninth. Fellow sophomore
Chernet Sisay notched a 12
th-place finish in a time of 15:32.13 while sophomore
Mason Lenox was 21
st in 16:07.88.
"Vinny and Chernet concluded a really good fall with a solid race here in Cary," head coach
Mike Esposito said. "It was nice for our middle distance guys track guys to get a little extra work in as well. That's the main reason we came down here to compete today."
The Panthers had a trio of runners place 27

th, as mid-distance runners Eddie Whitlock (27
th, 16:25.38) and Paul O'Donoghue (16:37.57) made cameos on the cross country course, while junior
Cody Seymour placed 29
th in 16:43.67.
HPU track mid-distance runners Luke Goodrich (32
nd, 17:24.14) and Nick Willians (36
th, 18:55.35) rounded out the Panther contingent.
High Point returns to action next weekend at the NCAA Southeast Regional (Nov. 14) in Louisville, Ky.
