Kristin Heldt chipped in five kills and
Chelsea Blanford came off the bench in the third set to put down three kills.
Molly Barlow had 15 digs and
Jamie McDonald had two kills and two aces.
Wright State hit .333 in the first set while limiting HPU to a .118 attack percentage. The Raiders won the set 15-15 led by Ashley Langjahr with four kills. Chakirelis put down three kills for HPU but the Panthers' outside hitters, Johnk and
Chelsea Davis, combined for just three kills in the first frame.
Wright State's Heidi Splinter went off for eight kills and a .667 attack percentage in the second set, leading the Raiders to a 25-19 win. Heldt connected for three kills in the frame, accounting for a third of the Panthers nine kills.
Barlow had a service ace to give HPU a 16-15 lead late in the third set but the Raiders went back to Splinter who tied the game and gave WSU the lead with back-to-back kills. Wright State went on to win the set 25-18.
The Panthers return to the court at 7:30 p.m. for the finale of the HPU Classic against James Madison.
