Box Score

The High Point volleyball snapped their two match losing streak with a solid 3-0 (30-20, 30-20, 30-21) sweep at in-state foe Campbell on Tuesday night.

The Panthers playing in their final regular season road match of the season upped their overall record to 16-15 with the win. In losing, the Camels slipped to 8-22 on the year.

Senior Michelle Feiser and sophomore Jamie Kaufman both recorded double-doubles in leading High Point to the straight game victory. Feiser earned hers with 13 kills and 17 assists while Kaufman posted 13 kills and a match high 13 digs. Kaufman also tallied five of the team's 10 service aces in the match. Junior Sabrina Wahid led all HPU hitters connecting at a .533 clip with 9 kills in 15 attempts with just a single error.

The Panthers controlled the match more than doubling the Camels kill output, 51-25, and recorded 14 more digs, 38-24, than Campbell. High Point's offense also operated at a highly efficient .330 rate thanks to consistent passing.

"It is great feeling to get back in the win column," said HPU head coach Chad Esposito. "Tonight's victory was a total team effort. We did a great job of controlling the tempo with aggressive serving and solid passing. Our serve reception was really a key to the win for us because it gave us plenty of options on offense. Hopefully, we can build on this performance on Saturday and then into the Big South Tournament next week."

The home standing Camels kept all three games close throughout the opening portions but High Point used big runs in each frame to grab insurmountable leads.  In game one, the Panthers broke open an 11-7 game with a 15-9 run to hold a 10-point advantage.  The second game was a 16-12 contest before a 9-5 HPU run made it a 25-17 game. In the deciding game, the Camels rallied with a 7-1 run to tie the score at 18-18 before the Panthers closed the game on a 12-3 streak.

Rachel Templin led CU with seven kills and Crystal Hoffman's eight digs topped the defensive performances for Campbell.

High Point closes out its regular season ledger at home on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Big South regular season champion Winthrop. The match will mark the final home appearance for HPU seniors Michelle Feiser, Jenelle Stouffer and Tara Mahoney, all of whom will be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
