Box Score High Point placed four players in double figures as the Panthers stifled host UNC Asheville, 69-39, Saturday night in women's basketball action at Justice Center.
HPU (13-7, 5-3 Big South) got 14 points from Misty Brockman, while freshman Katie O'Dell added 11 points off the bench.
Cebronica Scott and Kate Jenner each had 10 points, and Narelle Henry dished out six assists. Scott finished the game with seven steals.
The Bulldogs (3-17, 0-8) lost for the 12th straight time. They were led by Tonisha Jackson's 18 points and eight rebounds. Shantell Waiters grabbed 10 rebounds for the second-straight game.
HPU held the Buldogs to 9-of-38 shooting from the field for 23.7 percent and 0-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc. Asheville had 33 turnovers in the game, and 21 in the first half.
The Panthers set the tone early by scoring the game's first 13 points. Brockman's trey put High Point in front 13-0 with 15:43 left in the first half. UNCA had 10 turnovers in the first five minutes of the game.
Still, HPU committed 16 first-half turnovers and led just 27-15 at halftime. But the Panthers put the game away early in the second half with an 11-0 run to lead 47-19 on a Scott layup with 13:42 left.
UNCA could get no closer than 22 the rest of the game.
High Point looks for its third-consecutive victory Monday night when its road trip continues at future league foe Birmingham-Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm CST.
