Birmingham-Southern swept High Point in three games in a volleyball battle of Panthers Saturday afternoon at Bill Battle Coliseum. The linescore was 30-16, 30-27, 30-23.

BSC improved to 13-12 (6-5 in Big South play), while High Point fell to 7-25 (1-11).

Lindsey Pickens led HPU with 12 kills, while Sabrina Wahid added seven kills and Kamarsha Ryan and Heather Brooks five apiece. Kim Anderson provided a team-high 12 digs defensively, while Heather Butt tallied 23 assists.

BSC got 15 kills and 10 digs from Jana Smelley, while Rachel Malmborg (11) and Cassie Reed (10) also reached double-figures in kills for the host Panthers.

High Point steps out of conference for a Wednesday night date with Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
