Visiting Marshall got a goal from Chris Donovan in the 5th minute and added a pair of scores late in a 3-0 shutout of High Point Friday night at Albion Millis Stadium.
The Panthers fell to 0-2, while Marshall improved to 1-2.
Donovan took a pass from Jared Dombrowski and fired it past HPU keeper Eric Lona from six yards away to give the Herd a 1-0 lead. The game remained 1-0 until the 63rd minute, when Dombrowski found substitute Granit Caushaj in front of the goal for a nearly-identical score.
Marshall's final goal came on a successful penalty kick by Brent Sobczak in the 79th minute.
The Panthers were outshot 14-9. Each team was issued a pair of yellow cards.
Lona made eight saves for High Point. Marshall's Matt Salmon made three saves en route to his first shutout of the season.
The Panthers are back home Sunday at 2:00 pm against UNC Wilmington.
