High Point fell behind Winthrop 2-0, won the third game, but dropped the fourth and the Panthers were stung with a 3-1 loss to the Eagles in the opening match of the UNC Greensboro Invitational Friday evening at Fleming Gym.

The linescore was 30-14, 30-30, 28-30, and 30-23.

Kimberly Wright and Tracyann Pryce each had 11 kills for the Panthers (0-6). Wright had 11 digs, Casi Baker 10 digs, and Courtney Wilson 24 assists for HPU.

The Panthers play twice on Saturday: against Marshall at 10am and against the host Spartans at 6pm.
