High Point dropped its Big South Conference opener Tuesday night to UNC Asheville, 32-34, 30-25, 30-18, 30-25.

The Panthers fall to 1-12 on the season (0-1) in the Big South. UNCA stands at 9-3, 1-0 in the league.

Tracyann Pryce led High Point with 20 kills and six blocks. Kimberly Wright chipped in 14 kills and 15 digs. Kamarsha Ryan contributed 15 kills, while Lindsey Steinhaus added 14 kills.

The Panthers have a week off before facing Liberty next Tuesday.
